How many of you have worked on Microsoft Excel? Yes, me too. In fact, I begin my career with Excel VBA and Macros. For me, Excel was not just a tool – it was my companion, my language, my world.
For 18 years, I lived inside those cells and formulas. I worked with Morgan Stanley, Genpact and EY. On paper it looks like a big success. But from last few months, something was missing.
Every morning, I woke up with a conflict: Should I continue or should I leave. For around 1 year that conflict continued. Security pulled me one way, fulfillment pulled me another way. And then one day, I chose courage. I decided to leave my job – atleast for few months, if not forever. Now my mornings are different. I wake without alarms. I sip tea slowly. I feel freedom – fragile, yes, but real, like a bird testing its wings for the first time. And here is the truth I discovered:
- Life without Excel is not just a life without spreadsheets.
- Life without Excel is life without a job.
- And life without a job becomes life with possibility.
Friends, sometime the hardest decision is not about staying or leaving. It is about listening to the voice inside that says: this is not enough. You have bigger purpose in life.
So today, I stand here not with a title, not with a company name, but with a story. A story of choosing fulfilment over fear. A story of waking up to freedom. And my message to you is simple:
- Do not ignore that voice.
- Do not silence that conflict.
- Do not cage that bird.
Because beyond the cage of routine lies the canvas of purpose. And every one of us deserves to paint our own.
True … next is me. Just waiting to finish 18 years in industry I think 🙂
Beautifully put voice of heart. Keep enjoying !
